Well located in Funchal, Barceló Funchal Oldtown provides air-conditioned rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a fitness center. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the middle of the old town. The building looks amazing, especially with the lights on at night, and the rooftop with its bar is perfect. I didn't get the chance to try the restaurant, but there was some live music on the terrasse on Saturday night. We had an ice cream listening to it, it was great ! The breakfast is really good and the room as beautiful as the rest of the hotel. Would definitely stay there again !

The staff is super kind and attentive, the room is clean and comfortable, the rooftop bar and the swimming pool are just perfect, providing us with a great relaxation after a busy day touring the island. Would absolutely stay again, highly recommended!

View of the ocean was amazing. You could just sit in a balcony all day and enjoy the view or sleep with a window open..sound of the waves was very soothing. Having an arrival drink was a nice touch. Also free private access to sauna - meaning for a particular slot no need to share it with others. Also free access to natural pools outside!

This restored Madeiran mansion is located 2953 feet from Funchal's Old Town and has scenic views of the sea, the city and the mountains from its own botanical gardens and terraces. We missed our connection flight and arrived to the hotel in the middle of the night. Despite the time, Nuno welcomed us with a smile and very patient explanations and made the start of our trip in Madeira very pleasant. Also the rest of the staff was very nice, attentive and helpful. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The hotel's garden is gorgeous and has a nice panoramic view of the sea and was the perfect place for breakfast. Breakfast was excellent with large variety. It is highly recommended.
