I live in Falkirk and rented this property for my daughter,...

I live in Falkirk and rented this property for my daughter, There are the newer attractions near by, Kelpies, Falkirk wheel etc yet the town stretches back through history for a few thousand years, 2000 years ago it was the northern most frontier of the Roman empire, The antonine wall is a World Heritage site and runs through the town. The resting place of William Wallace best friend is a little churchyard in the centre of town, where other leaders from "The battle of Falkirk" in 1298 are laid to rest and is a 15 minute journey from Stirling where the Wallace monument and Stirling castle are. For people wanting to see the cities, Falkirk is about equal distance from both Glasgow and Edinburgh with trains that run all day, public transport is great for getting around the main places, though a car would be needed to explore the not so main places that said, most of those are only an hour or two drive away from Falkirk so its a great place to plan a tour of Scotland, or a short term stay, you avoid the bigger tourist places and the bigger tourist prices but get the exact same experience.

Loved the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. Great for family tripsThey also had the cleanest, friendliest McDonald's we have ever been to! We also visited a lovely Italian restaurant called Chianti's which I'd highly recommend.

Falkirk is a place without pretensions. People are generally friendly and I like wandering around. The museum and gallery are great and so is Callendar Park. The stadium is terrific and would support a team in the top flight.

The Kelpies are a must to see both day & night.

The Kelpies are a must to see both day & night. We also ate at a few local restaurants… Cafe Corvina (Italian) Sanam (Indian) Central Perk (British for breakfast) We were also recommended the Tea house (Chinese) but didn’t have time to eat there due to a short stay.

The Falkirk Wheel & Kelpies is well worth a visit.

The Falkirk Wheel & Kelpies is well worth a visit. The Boat Trip on the Wheel is good, however you can actually walk the boat route by footpath & it is actually better seeing it from the footpath as photo opportunities are better. The lighting in the Canal Tunnel is IMPRESSIVE.

We had reservations May 17-18,2024. When we arrived to find a chained link fence around the property with a demolition crew tearing it down. I emailed owner and Booking.com. I received a reply our room was ready. I asked if there was another facility we would be staying since the hotel and restaurant was being torn down. I received a reply, see you soon. I asked the hotel next door if by chance we had a reservation on hold for us. They said no and that our hotel closed January 2024. I emailed Booking.com and have had no reply.

The only down side was the lift out of action, as for the staff nothing was too much for them, they were friendly, polite and very helpful. The food (evening meal) in the hotel was very good served hot and quickly, the included breakfast was fantastic and buffet style allowing you to go back for seconds if you wanted, the bar staff are very good and make you feel very welcome. I would recommend the Park Hotel for your stay in Falkirk. We will certainly stay again on our next visit to this area.

We both loved the friendliness of the owners Pat and Bill. From the word go we were greeted with a warm welcome and when we left it was like leaving friends. The room we stayed in had a 4 poster bed, a wonderful little on suite bathroom, plenty of tea and biscuits and lovely views of a sunset over the beautiful Scottish hills. No. 54 is in an excellent location near town centre, The Kelpies and The Falkirk wheel. We can not wait to re-visit when we travel to this region again.

The Orchard Hotel was ideal for us as we came up for the rugby. We liked the small fridge in every room which the staff put sandwiches bottle water and cans of pop in and refilled every day that was lovely . The manager and bar staff were all very nice and friendly and accommodating nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was very good and a nice selection of drinks. We will most definitely be returning and will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Falkirk

The apartment is beautifully kept and very clean. The eye masks, ear plugs and chocolates on the bed are a lovely touch. There was plenty parking both at the front and rear of the building. There is a retail park just round the corner which is very handy. A20 minute walk takes you to the Kelpies and Helix park and it is only a short drive into the town centre or to the Falkirk wheel so ideal location for sightseeing

We didn't stay at the Cladhan as it was shut. Our booking was moved to the another in the group the Park Hotel. The rooms on the ground floor was spacious and comfortable but had no view. Having said that the rooms were airy and in excellent condition. The bathrooms were good, and the towels large and fluffy. The breakfasts were enjoyable and the evening meals could not be faulted and were excellent value for money.

It is about 8 minutes away from Falkirk, but an easy drive. I loved the quiet location...very peaceful. And I liked how the cows mooed us awake every morning! Really enjoyed the outdoor seating and the very modern kitchen with the clothes washer. Hot water and water pressure were excellent, obviously a lot of thought has gone into this place. Also, the Welcome Packet was very useful and thorough.

The breakfast room was very nice with a lot of variety in choices. The room itself was clean and I liked the big window. Also, this hotel was within walking distance of several local attractions, for example we walked to the Falkirk Wheel which was about one mile away. Also, a nice park across the street which hosted a bagpiper one of the evenings we were there.

The best no frills hotel I’ve stayed in. So clean and friendly. Reception was 5*. Excellent for everyone. Very close to The Kelpies and football stadium. No breakfast but kitchenette with microwaves, etc and eating area. Takeaways deliver. Excellent M&S Food shop close by + McDs and M9. Easy to get to other attractions, town centre and commercial areas.

The lady on reception was an absolute legend, she was so kind and helpful to us. She made sure my request regarding my husband's disability was catered for. She sorted taxi's out for us too, first class staff. The hotel is very close for visiting the kelpies, we got a taxi there and it cost £7 each way.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived that it was a semi detached house with lots of room. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable in a quiet area. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals. Will stay here again and will be recommending to friends/family.
