Lovely little place, we enjoyed our walks around the area...
Lovely little place, we enjoyed our walks around the area and relaxing and watching the boats etc. Very easy to get to, loads of eateries and pubs. If you like Yachts and boats then you will be in heaven, but even if you dont theres still plenty to keep you occupied. Its also very easy to move around the island from Cowes whether you drive or use the bus service.

I know Cowes well because my mother in law lived there so...
I know Cowes well because my mother in law lived there so for many years I regularly visited her and stayed in the town. Since she died I have not visited as often and hadn't been to the Isle of Wight for two years until I stayed this autumn. It was a quick visit, but the shops in Cowes and the waterfront areas and town beaches are always interesting. I wouldn't stay quite as late in the year again as many places shut at the end of October or by early November, and if they're not shut completely they can be quiet and shut early (eg some of the out of town shops). Even the Cowes shops were beginning to wind down about 4pm on the Saturday and there weren't many people about. So do go but the warmer months and early autumn are probably better as there's more going on and there are more options. We ate at Mojac's and the Pier Inn, both excellent places for evening meals. The Pier Inn is also a pub but has a separate dining area. It was nice to go in pubs and for them not to be crowded but they do shut bang on 11pm.

Easy access to Osborne House in East Cowes.
Easy access to Osborne House in East Cowes. Really worth a visit! The island is very small and so one can drive round it and see lots each day.. Everywhere on the island is less than 35 minutes from Cowes (in October). Lots of good restaurants in Cowes.

We love the Isle of Wight.
We love the Isle of Wight. Beautiful island and I feel so safe there. We ate at The Coast which we thoroughly recommend. Tremendous atmosphere.
When we didn't use our car we used a local taxi who were brilliant and never let us down.

We enjoyed our visit although as it was the Isle of Wight...
We enjoyed our visit although as it was the Isle of Wight Festival during our visit traffic queues and road closures were in abundance. We spent a lovely day at the Big Cat sanctuary which was fairly empty making it a good opportunity to see the cats and talk to the keepers who are all so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Great visit. There are lots of shopping facilities, great views and lovely little hamlets and places to visit around the island. The park we stayed in was peaceful but had easy access to Cowes and to the ferry port. Friendly people and we enjoyed great weather.
We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel. The hotel owner was lovely and willingly shared her knowledge about the island. She was particularly kind to our young son and made sure our stay was comfortable. The hotel interior is delight with wonderful paintings, memorabilia and photographs of past sailing events on the Island. Our room was spotless and the sea view from our room was unforgettable. Breakfast was certainly a highlight with no food spared! We look forward to visiting this hotel again.
Really enjoyed our stay at Halcyone. The host, Lee , was very helpful and accommodated to our diet needs. The room looked out at the Cowes harbour and marina. We were able to walk to the town centre in the evenings which was only a 10mins walk (walked slowly as we have a 6yrs old). The cooked breakfast was also very good with hefty portions and we also had choice of a number of cereals and toast. We will be staying there when we're next at the Isle Of Wight.
Although the room is a little dated, with woodchip on the wall (🎶) it is exceptionally clean. Everything you need is there. There are plenty of hand sanitizers dotted about the property.
I had actually walked around the island and stayed at various B&B's and campsites. Of all the places I stayed at, Watch House Barn was the best night's sleep I had. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. For the price as well, I would happily stay there again.
Wonderful house, fully equipped for absolutely everything we needed, there was even a toy box and Lego for the kids which went down well.
Lovely big bathroom with plenty of towels, it was a nice touch with the additional toiletries in the bathroom. The shower was lovely too.
Location was excellent, 5 minutes to walk into Cowes which is full of lovely places to eat.
We stayed with our dog and the house was dog friendly.
It's so unique and it made our trip. Isle of Wight is beautiful but was made particularly special by our stay at Ward Avenue B&B. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, gave us great recommendations, brought a delicious breakfast to our cabin (vegetarian options available), and helped us enjoy our stay to the max. The room was cosy but not small, and I can't recommend it enough.
This accommodation was really good! It was perfect for what we wanted. The location was perfect - quiet and easily accessible from around the island. Clean, tidy with wonderful hosts, a lovely sea view and plenty of space. Mary even made sure we had a high chair for our little one! We had such a lovely time - we will return!
We really enjoyed staying at this accommodation. The check in was really well thought through. Everything was very smooth. The room was really comfortable with beautiful decor. The breakfast was delicious. It felt really professional and like a little boutique hotel. Lovely sea view as well!
What a lovely little hotel this is, The decor is amazing with everything done to the highest standard. The staff were brilliant from the moment we arrived to when we left. If I go back to the Isle of Wight again I'll definitely look to see if there's a room available first.
lovely room in a quiet house. the best thing was the garden. we were lucky enough to have great weather so could enjoy the delicious breakfast in the garden. It was great to walk out of the back gate and the enjoy a really pleasant walk into Cowes high street in 5 minutes.
The hotel is well situated overlooking the Solent and its spectacular sunsets. The garden terrace area overlooking the Solent has been expanded since I was last there and is now almost tripled in size. The food menu has also been expanded and is good value for money.
Good sized apartment. Very central, 2 min from the red-jet ferry from Southampton!!. I needed a space where I could stay without any fuss or problems to relax on a business trip and this place worked perfectly. It was very clean, very good standard throughout.
The location of this hotel is excellent, right in the centre of Cowes. Had a lovely dinner in the restaurant followed by a great breakfast in the morning. The staff are are extremely friendly and helpful too.
In a country location close to Cowes and near many Isle of Wight attractions. You will need a car but the parking is provided. Directions on SatNav are incorrect but owners will provide correct directions.
Lovely surroundings and very dog friendly. Basic amenities provided on arrival. Good communication from the hosts. Good access to everywhere else on the island. Oven and fridge in good condition.
Excellent food and service at both breakfast and dinner. Very helpful and pleasant staff throughout the hotel. The dining rooms have spectacular views out to sea.
Staff very friendly and incredibly helpful. Excellent breakfast and plenty of choice. Always served quickly. Ideal location by the Redjet and in centre of Cowes.
